Mr. Lehrman began representing people in immigration cases as a law student in 1978. He co-founded the Immigration Law Project at Lincoln University in San Francisco, the first law school legal clinic in Northern California focusing on the study of the immigration system. Mr. Lehrman began his private practice in Sacramento in 1982 and has successfully represented clients of all different nationalities, including large and small businesses in well over 3,000 cases in the entire range of immigration matters---business investor visas, family visas, temporary and permanent employer-sponsored visas, religious/ministers, political asylum/refugees matters, deportation defense and exclusion hearings, criminal matters, citizenship, representation at U.S. and foreign embassies, appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals, State of California and U.S. Federal District Courts. In addition to his private law practice he and his staff dedicate and volunteer much of their time to advocating the rights of the foreign-born, public education and advising non-profit social services organizations. Mr. Lehrman has appeared on local television networks and is a frequent lecturer at legal seminars and before community and business groups concerning immigration law.
